The Power of Positive

Some people spend their whole life regretting what could have been; what should have been; what went wrong; what bad luck they had - when the only person they have to blame is actually themselves and a negative attitude.
There must be hundreds of wise sayings out there along the lines of "If you always do what you've always done then you'll get exactly the same results" and "If you want to be successful then surround yourself  with successful people"... and they are so true, but sometimes knowing what you need to do  and actually doing it can be pretty near impossible and it would be oh so easy to give up.
So, celebrate even the smallest success and  actively work on positive language patterns. Keep a record of  what you achieve, no matter how small, and be proud of it.
If no-one else is there to tell you how well you are doing then tell yourself: look at your reflection in the mirror each morning and say out loud what you have achieved. Speak in the positive eg Rather than saying "I want to be a successful  writer by Christmas" use"I am a successful writer". Really mean what you say as you look directly in to your own eyes.
Avoid using "try" eg I am going to try to eat healthily"
If you "try", the implication is that you may not succeed.
In addition to the words you use it is also really important that you act as someone who is positive and successful.
SMILE! This instils an air of confidence in you and makes others feel more positive towards you
LISTEN! Listen to everything you are told and respond appropriately; this shows respect and sends positive vibes to the speaker making them more sympathetic to your cause.
LEARN! Do your research whether from role models, books or the internet. Ensure that you have the depth of knowledge that makes you stand out as an expert in your field.
ACT! Play a role, even if it is not yet who you are: If you want others to see you as a successful salesperson then dress, act and speak like a successful salesperson. Find a role model  either amongst your colleagues, on TV or in the media and copy what they do, how they speak, the clothes they wear. Nowadays technology makes it so easy to find all of the information you need.
Make up your mind to be an enabler and give generously of your time without expecting anything in return; you will reap the rewards.
You can be anything that you want to be...
