The wonders of Reiki

Now that I have moved my blog and can no longer access the old posts, I am reposting a couple of what I consider my most important pieces.

Reiki ( pronounced Ray-Key) is  a most wonderful experience to both give and receive.
It can be used for the treatment of specific conditions such as headache, period pains, backache etc, or simply for relaxation.
There is no doubt in the mind of anyone who has experienced Reiki that it has a profound effect.
As somone who came to Reiki through personal need (a debilitating prolonged period of headaches) I was delighted to find that with attunements I, too, could give and receive Reiki, and that it worked not just on people, but also on animals, plants, situations etc.
I feel very fortunate that the feedback when I give and receive Reiki is so heightened.  I work predominantly with my eyes closed as I move around the body. This is because, as I work, I  see colours  - green, purple and gold ( all good healing colours) and experience great heat and tingling in my hands. The energy (heat) is often so intense that I tend to work off the body in the aura for most of the session.
Also, of course, the old saying " Give and ye shall receive" is absolutely accurate for Reiki. If I begin a session with  a niggling ache in my knee or a headache, I know that at the end of the treatment I will also be refreshed and the aches and pains will have disappeared.
The most satisfying feeling is when a client leaves feeling fantastic, and I know that I have not had to pummel or poke them, they haven't had to take anything nasty or do anything unpleasant, but I have made a difference.

Insomnia

Now that I have moved my blog, I have decided to revise and repost my blog on Insomnia. It is certainly a subject which provokes a great deal of interest whenever it is in the news, and it is in the news quite often!

Insomnia can be caused by so many things: lifestyle, stress, bereavement, personal upheaval such as starting a new job or moving house, diet, medication...

Whatever the cause, it has a debilitating effect on the quality of life. Many people are wary of taking mediciation for Insomnia and so suffer, sometimes for years, believing that that there is no other solution.

Both Hypnotherapy, and Reiki in particular, are excellent for treating Insomnia, so why not book a treatment today? See my website http://www.annestagghypnotherapy.co.uk/ for contact details.

In the meantime some simple ways forward include:
• no caffeine/ alcohol after 7pm.
• avoid eating a heavy meal late evening - again 7pm is a good cut off point.
• if you want supper, then choose a warm milky drink and porridge or small bowl of sugarfree cereal
• leave invigourating showers for the morning and opt for a relaxing bath with lavender oil or similar
• dim the lights in the bedroom before this and ensure that the room is not too hot or cold
• the bedroom should be an oasis of calm - take the TV out!
• establish a routine and stick to it
• once in bed, close your eyes, take 2-3 slow deep breaths and slowly relax your body, beginning with your head, and working down to the feet

Phone or email for an appointment. Mention my Blog and I will give a 15% discount on one session of Reiki or Hypnotherapy.

Anne Stagg Hypnotherapy:Chocolate sprouts!

Wow! How great minds think alike!
For years I have been slipping "Sprouts are the secret ingredient in chocolate - allegedly!" in to conversations, and sitting back to see how long it took for someone to tell me that as a fact...
When I have felt particularly wicked, I've even elaborated to wide-eyed children and told them it was a government ploy to ensure that children were receiving essential vitamins and minerals.
Now I find that someone has actually gone and done it! And they look good too!
Earlier this week I switched on the TV to see beautiful, chocolate covered raw sprouts displayed artistically and looking, for all the world to see, just like a selection from one of the high class chocolatiers.
Now, if this had been January 2011, I suspect that my tiny little chocolate-centred world would have comprehensively fallen apart.
But this happened to me in January 2012 - and I have been 29 days without chocolate( and toffees and Haribo); something inside me is secretly pleased, and I feel just a little bit smug...
How did I kick my habit? A combination of EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and self hypnosis have rendered chocolate something of a neutral food. I can look at it and not be bothered for it. I can appreciate the aroma without wanting to taste it. I don't just pick up chocolate and eat it endlessly without even registering the taste or texture. I'm just not interested.
Will I ever eat chocolate again? Possibly.
But for now I am happy to enjoy the novelty of being chocolate free, and I know that I can boost my resolve with a quick EFT tapping session or a top up of self hypnosis.
